Habitat for Humanity
Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit, nondenominational Christian organization dedicated to building simple, decent, affordable, housing for individuals in need of adequate shelter.
Houses are sold to the homeowner at no profit with zero interest on the mortgage. Homeowners and volunteers build the home under on-site trained supervision. Individuals, churches and corporations provide financial support for the home building projects. Habitat for Humanity is presently building in more than 3,000 towns, cities, and villages in more than 80 countries worldwide.
MUMC supports Habitat for Humanity through significant financial contributions to the local affiliate and group participation in volunteer build programs on-site in the local Habitat housing community.
